I first looked at air con after having a quote for a radiator to be fitted in our conservatory; this was required due to being so cold in the winter. We were told that we would require a huge unsightly radiator and a replacement boiler to run the system. We would also require a fair amount of building work if we required the pipe work to be concealed, upon this I started to look at air con units on the web. I first looked at Air-Con on the eBay website looking to see what companies could offer at a discounted rate. First impressions were that there were a lot of refurbished units available but without any form of guarantee, I was not sure about proceeding with a purchase on a used unit.
Then I saw an advert for 4seasons aircon with units available at a great rate and all these were new units with various guarantees. I sent several e-mails asking various questions about the adverts and found that I required a much larger unit due to the size of the room that I intended to heat, upon this Gareth offered to make an appointment to see what was required so a final quote could be obtained.
Gareth turned up promptly and straight away gave the impression that I was dealing with a family run business and these always seemed to be best as they count on sales like mine and word of mouth afterwards. I was given several options of what we could do and a rough guide price for each, these were left with me until I had worked out which option was best. I requested another home visit to go through a few more ideas and Gareth was more than happy to attend. During this visit we agreed on fitting a unit in the conservatory and another unit at the top of the stairs, finally having a large outdoor unit to run the system. The price was agreed and a date was made for fitment.
The day of fitment arrived and even the weather was on our side, the equipment was outside for two days whilst fitment was carried out. We went through where I wanted the pipe run done so they were mainly concealed and nothing that was requested seemed too much trouble or hassle. The final day arrived and all was complete, Gareth explained how everything worked and gave a demonstration for both units. Both were very easy to use; however in the next few days the weather did not warrant using them and we were left wondering if we had done the right thing in having air con fitted?
Then out the blue came a heat wave and I can only say that having air con is worth every penny. The conservatory stays at around 17C on the hottest of days and the upstairs is a pleasure during the evening when the house is lovely and cool. When we use the garden during the day the outdoor unit can hardly be heard whilst running the units and we have since planted various plants to conceal the unit so no one really even sees the units now. During the past few days as the evening have got a little colder I have not wanted to put the central heating on due to only requiring a little heat, but have been able to use these units to heat the conservatory and house. Before these units were installed the conservatory used to be too cold in the autumn morning but now we use the room all year round thanks to Gareth.
I think I can honestly say that this was money well spent on a room that can be used all year round now and has also given us the bonus of air con all over the house during the summer. Gareth and his team are a pleasure to deal with and I would highly recommend them to anybody looking for a heating or cooling solution, so do not delay get a quote today.
